Public relations firm, Greentarget Global Group’s, survey on client communications indicates that GCs respond best to outreach in the form of personalized emails, phone calls, texts, and podcasts.

Few firms offer podcasts, and it’s a rare lawyer who will take the time to personalize a general client alert or update.

There is often a disconnect between how firms communicate and what clients want. GCs want relevant, curated information. They want the bottom line. They don’t want to have to sift through overwritten paragraphs to glean the germane point.

Never base your outreach on what’s easiest for you, the sender. Put yourself in the recipient’s shoes. Or better yet, ask your clients what their communication preferences are and adapt accordingly.
