In Defense of Creative Workspaces

Are you excited to return to the office? 😀

As you navigate the return-to-office movement, use this opportunity to reimagine your environment. 🤔

There’s a reason many startup environments provide couches and community work areas. As Leonard Mlodinow, author of “Elastic: Flexible Thinking in a Constantly Changing World“ reminds us: “Incubation time is very useful for coming up with and processing ideas.“ Also, changing one’s surroundings breaks up the monotony often associated with extended hours sitting at one’s desk.

Being efficient is important, but as the pandemic taught us, the office does not have to be a factory floor. Remember, it’s OK to find a couch or community table from time to time so that your work experience is more dynamic. If your office doesn’t have such luxuries, it might be time to take your laptop to the coffee shop down the street. ☕️
