What New Business Development Skills Should you be Learning as a Leader?

Trust is the most crucial element in any business development endeavor. Whether you are pitching a prospect or nurturing a long-term business development relationship, your ability to build trust with the other party will often make the difference between success and hesitation.

Unfortunately, we often top spin our capabilities when we pitch our services.  It’s natural to want to avoid the impression that there may be some aspect of a project for which we are not the ideal fit.

But when working with clients, I encourage fully transparent interactions, even if this means negotiating against our immediate self-interest.
