Self-Reflection, Introspection or Self-Awareness? Tasha Eurich, author of Bankable Leadership: Bottom Line Results Deliver says -

“We can spend endless amounts of time in self-reflection but emerge with no more self-insight than when we started.”

I often see Eurich’s observation play out in my work with clients. In order for us to transform our circumstances, we must become more self-aware. One tactical approach to this is keeping an actual journal.

Yes. Even ten minutes of pen to paper is usually more helpful than hours of rumination or introspection. Journaling gets us out of our heads and initiates the work toward self-awareness.
