Inspiring Women Neuroscientists Who Persevered
My fascination with neuroscience often produces little treasures like this wonderful piece about the women scientists who have advanced our understanding of the brain. 🧠 Who knows the inspiring story of Rita Levi-Montalcini (the third woman ever to receive the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine)? That as an Italian Jew she could not study neurology during World War II because Mussolini blocked Jews’ entrance to medical school. She did her own research in her bedroom, where she grew nerve fibers in chick embryos.
